8 days from today I will be moved into my new home, AKA my dorm, at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I will probably be at an orientation meeting with new friends, or knowing me I will still be setting up my dorm room just the way that I want it. (I’m definitely a perfectionist). As much as I love my home here in Keller, Texas, I am so excited to start my new life in Savannah and to start my career in fashion design. I’m hoping to meet many new people that will impact my life forever.
I’m so excited for all of the people that will be following and supporting my career along the way. Starting a blog is something that I have always wanted to do, and I thought that this would be a perfect time to begin.
Here is a photo from when I received my acceptance letter in the mail, one of the happiest moments of my life! Everyone has been so supportive of my art career and I am so blessed to be able to pursue it!
As of now, Texas is quite boring. Most of my friends have left to far away places to begin their college journeys, my twin sister Rachel has left to start her journey at Harding University in Arkansas, and my little sister Melanie has started her senior year in high school. So that leaves me alone at home with no car during the day…although I have my fictional friends, Jim and Pam Halpert (Yes, I’ve watched about 3 seasons of The Office this past month)
Here is a photo of Rachel and I when I helped her move into her dorm at Harding. Before saying goodbye, we walked around the beautiful campus (I may or may not have cried while saying goodbye):
Although I have watched a lot of Netflix (we all do), I have spent even more time preparing for college. I have made endless trips to stores such as Walmart, Target, Tuesday Morning, and Marshall’s for dorm essentials and decor. I also happened to make my way to the fabric store (shocker, right?) to get some fabric for some dorm DIY’s. (Do It Yourself’s). My most recent project is a headboard for my Twin XL dorm bed, and some matching pillows with bows on them. Here is a photo:
I will try to post on my blog once a week to let you all know what I am up to, as I can’t wait to share this amazing journey with all of you! Make sure to follow by email! (Go to the bottom of the page to sign up!)
See you next Thursday! 🙂
